| Thanks for Coming by! Hi, I'm Tony Hanes the Author of Baboo Says. Baboo is a creation that I came up with to teach kids how to find their own power. The book has a lot of references to Magic, but this isn't hocus-pocus type stuff, its just the description used to explain the wonders of the universe in a way that kids can understand. Baboo is of course a young Genie, and what better way to teach Magic? Kids learn more in school than ever before. Now kids have the Internet, crazy television programing, and are just swamped with information. A lot of that information is good of course, but a lot of it isn't. While all this is going on, it seems somehow we have made all this information the primary focus for our kids. It's no secret that kids who grow up in a healthy family environment have happier lives. It's also no secret that kids who grow up in more challenging environments tend to repeat those pattens. Ultimately the only difference is how each one "THINKS". This process should be instilled in all kids, by parents and by society. Before we all received our Drivers Licence, we had a year of training before we were let loose on the road. Yet when we left High School we were thrown out into the world with all the facts we had learned, but we were never taught how to think. How did we learn how to think? By watching our parents, by watching other people on TV. What we really learned were habitual reactions to situations. Most people leave School with their emotions of Fear and Loneliness being in control of what they think. It may take a person years to finally figure out that "WHAT" a person thinks is actually the culprit of Fear and Loneliness; something they should have known before they came to be out on their own. In short Baboo Says is my attempt to start a revolution of sorts with our kids. To teach kids how to be happy. All the facts in the world will not make a kid happy or fruitful in life. Its only when they have a better understanding of their place in the world and the power they have inside. Really that is a process that comes naturally to kids, until their minds get saturated with tons of information. Baboo is of course a Magical Kid Genie, who better to learn from? In Baboo Says he talks about what dreams are all about, he shows kids how to deal with the crossing over of a loved one, he show kids what a close relationship they have with their own bodies and how what they think can affect it. But most importantly he shows kids how powerful thoughts are. When I was around 30 years old, I wondered why I was always depressed. I blamed that on a lot of things until one day I realized the truth. I was always THINKING of depressing things, ha ha. The truth was, the past had absolutely no bearing on what I choose to think of now. Another 5 years later, I began to discover I could change my own thoughts. Later I discovered that after I changed the way I look at things, the things I looked at changed. This was a process that took me decades to figure out on my own. Something I should have known before I was a teenager. So I may be a little biased I admit, but I do recommend Baboo Says to every kid you know, and even adults. And please, help to spread the message. |
ever read. I can't believe how the author was able to nail down a kids perspective on life and show them how to pay attention to whats really important. As a matter of fact it really reminded me of when I was a kid and how I used to think. Baboo teaches kids how to keep that part of themselves that we have somehow completely forgotten about. I'm still not sure how he does it, but Baboo gives the key to happiness." -Climent Bacon |

| Cognitive Selection; state of mind where one chooses to think thoughts that create a sense of well being. |
| In it's simplest terms a persons mood is their life; its how they feel emotionally even physically. Its their outlook on change and the future. A persons mood at any given time is at that time their whole life, its everything. A persons mood is always a reaction of what they choose to think about. If they choose to worry, to see the negative in things then obviously their mood will be negative. Worrying is simply looking for something negative to believe in! The thing about kids is they learn how to think from watching others. They will see a specific situation and notice how most people get angry. Eventually that is exactly how they too will react. Reminds me of wildebeests who are jumping over each other to get across the crocodile infested river. We want our kids to size up a situation and react from choice, not from monkey see monkey do. Honestly in every situation where they see others become angry or sad, the person whom they are watching is only acting like the wildebeest and never exercised Cognitive Selection. |
