| Baboo Says Characters; Baboo An adolescent Genie, age 144 years old. Baboo will be muscular and slim. His skin will well tanned. His features will be sharp with a rather long shaped face. He will have an excellent sense of humor, and will at times use current slang, and will at times use his own slang from his own world. His clothes will be white pillowy and loose fitting. His movements will be energetic and limber. He does not live in a bottle as the Genie stereotype would suggest. He is a Genie in training and does not have all the powers of a Master Genie. He is not allowed to do any great feats of Magic to help others, but may do little things. His mission is to find and teach kids how to use their own Magic. He does this through humor and pointing out the innate power that lies within each person in a way that kids can relate too. In teaching he also learns. This whole experience is like a class to Baboo and is part of his personal growth. Lizard A flying Lizard, Lizard is a very interesting character. He will generally be wearing a back pack where he will always have what ever he or Baboo needs as they go through their missions. He wears glasses and has wings under his arms much like a flying squirrel. He has very annoying ticks and mannerisms such as smacking food, chewing on things, smelling people inappropriately. He makes very humorous noises for various activities. He is very clumsy and creates a lot of attention to himself from his antics. His mission is to assist Baboo and to record his actions. Jerrod 11 years old Jerrod is a skinny boy and very smart, he is the bookworm introverted type. Jerrod is a sensitive kid. He reasons with logic much like a young scientist. Orphaned last year Baboo assists him to find a new family and to work out his issues. Coby Is also an 11 year old boy who is a little over weight. Cody developed a severe case of introversion from the loss of his parents and entering the orphanage system. Baboo helps Cody find his happiness again by showing him how to use his own Magic and helping him get placed with Cody and his new parents. Joan and Terry Adoptive parents of Jerrod and Cody. Terry is very warm and friendly who also has a great sense of humor. He is a little over weight with a large pot belly. He enjoys all outdoor activities. Joan is the typical Granny who loves to shower everyone with love and food. The two of them love animals and this reflects into the cartoon script in various ways. |

Jerrod Says “But I don’t feel like doing anything”. Baboo Says “Dude, have you ever been on a merry-go-round that was spinning really fast and made you feel sick? You finally got off and you were really dizzy and sick for awhile before you felt normal.” Jerrod Says “Yeah, I hate that”. Baboo Says “Well you just have to shake it off. Once you get off the merry-go-round you have done the hard part. So what do you say we get you off the merry-go-round now. Jerrod Says “Ok, I guess”. Baboo Says “There is someone I want you to meet. He is a friend of mine and he works for me. He is like my personal assistant. Baboo Yells “LIZARD!” Baboo waits a moment and no one comes. Baboo Yells again “LIZARD!” Then Lizard runs into the room so fast that trips over his own feet, summersaults over his back pack, some books fly out, his glasses fly off his face and he bounces off of Baboo. Baboo Says “OH MY GOODNESS LYZARD, PLEASE BE CAREFUL!” Lizard runs around picking up the books and his glasses which he puts back onto his face. He puts the books back into the backpack. Jerrod begins to giggle at Lizard. Lizard Says “Sowwrey Baboo” Lizard quickly moves to Jerrod as he seems very interested in him. He pats his hair twice with his hand, then he moves his nose to Jerrod’s hair and sniffs his hair twice. He spastically pulls his head back and sneezes. Then he moves his head forward and spits out his forked tongue (like a snake) towards Jerrod’s hair, followed by a quick sneeze. Jerrod Laughs Jerrod Says “Hey what’s wrong with this guy?” Baboo Laughs Baboo Says “This is Lizard, he is one of a kind. Lizard reaches behind his head and pulls out a pad and pencil. He sticks the pencil eraser into his mouth and he chews on it a couple of times, then he makes a funny noise, and starts writing. Baboo Says “He helps me out and also records everything I do. I am a young genie, and I am still learning my own Magic. Part of how I learn to use my magic is to show young kids how to use their own magic. Lizard keeps up with what I do so I can show my parents. Jerrod laughs and says “Well I think he has some issues” Baboo Says “You don’t know the half of it. (pause) Do you like animals?” Jerrod Says “Yes, I love animals. I would love to live in a zoo.” Baboo Says “So what do you like about animals?” Jerrod Says “I just love being around them, they are amazing.” Baboo Says “So when you think about animals do you always feel good?” Jerrod Says “Yeah”. Baboo Says “What about when you hear about some people being mean to animals, or poor little stray dogs that are starving or sick?” Jerrod Says “Those things as awful, I don’t like thinking about those things.” Baboo Says “So when you think about animals you choose to think about things that feel good. Who told you to always think about the things that only feel good?” Jerrod Says “That’s another trick question! I am the one who choose to only think about the good things”. Baboo Says “Cool Beans Jerrod, you just figured out how you use your own magic”. Lizard yells “COOL BEANS” Lizard raises his head up toward the ceiling and sticks his tongue out twice. Jerrod laughs at Lizard. Baboo Says “you want me to tell you a secret that all genies have to learn?” Jerrod Says “Sure!” Baboo Says “This secret is one of the first things all genies must learn and its something most humans seem to get wrong all the time. You can be happy all the time, or you can be sad all the time, or you can be somewhere in- between. Jerrod Says “No offence Baboo, but I already knew that. Baboo Says “Naaa, you thought you did, but you don’t really believe that. Today you have been laying around here all sick and helpless …” Baboo sniffs his nose a couple of times and holds his hand out, then Lizard pulls a tissue out of his backpack and hands it to Baboo. Baboo holds it to his nose again and sniffs. Then maybe you want to blame the world for how you feel. And what a mess I found you in. Baboo holds the tissue out in the air and then in a poof it disappears. Jerrod Says “But Baboo these things are bad!” Baboo Says “The world is yours Jerrod. There are billions of things to do, to think about, and if you choose to think about only the things that make you feel bad that’s your fault. That’s your magic. You can use your magic for anything you want. There are billions of things you can think about or do everyday that will make you feel good. When you think about animals, you said you only think about the good things. I’m not saying there are not bad things in the world. But if you choose to think about bad things when you can choose to think about things that make you feel good, then you don’t know how to use your magic. “ “You know, Genies never do that! Only you humans do this nasty trick to yourself. You say things like “the world is bad, I am bad, I hate my life”. Then you want to blame someone else for what you are doing. “ Lizard chuckles with a humorous laugh. Baboo Says “You are very powerful. There is always something you can find to think about that will make you feel good. There is always something you can find that feels good to do. Jerrod Says “I think I know what you mean, but inside I still feel sad” Baboo Says “Well you have been spinning around on the merry-go-round so it will take a few minutes before you don’t feel sick anymore. Start thinking about things you do have that are nice to you. Think about people you know who make you feel good to be around. If you have been missing your parents then you can remember when you played with them. You can talk to them in your mind. You can believe they are watching you and are proud of you. You can believe you will see them again one day. “ “A master genie knows his power. He knows what he creates. He knows if he feels bad, then he has been thinking about the wrong things. When you think of only good things about animals, then you know you can think only of good things about your parents. So, you can feel good, you can feel bad, or you can feel somewhere in-between. Get it?” Jerrod Says “Its my choice” Baboo Says “Your choice.” Lizard looks out the window. Lizard Says “Theeey hear” Baboo looks out the window. Baboo Says “Looks like you have some company coming to see you.” Jerrod looks out the window. Jerrod Says “I don’t know who they are”. Baboo Says “Well in a few minutes I think you will. Its time for Lizard and me to pop out for a few. We will catch you after while little buddy. Remember to pay attention to what you are thinking about. Lizard holds up a peace sign. Lizard Says “Peace out” In a flash they both disappear. Just then Joan and Terry walk into the room with the counselor. Terry has a large photo book under his arm. Counselor Says “Hello Jerrod, I have some friends of mine that would like to meet you.” Joan walks up to Jerrod and holds out her hand to shake his. Joan Says “Hello Jerrod its nice to meet you.” Jerrod just sits there and does not shake her hand. Then you hear Jerrod think ‘hey lady I don’t know you’ , then you hear Baboos voice in Jerrod’s head say ‘who told you to think that’? Jerrod thinks ‘huh? Oh I get it, I did. I just made the choice to make this a bad thing’. Jerrod raises his hand to shake and says “ Hello.” Joan Says “we have heard many things about you, and we know you have had a hard time lately. I know we are just now meeting but I wanted to let you know that we are looking for another kid to live with us. I thought we could get to know each other and if you decide you like us, then maybe we can work something out. Just then Terry walks over to Jerrod. Terry Says “Hello Jerrod, I’m Terry. Someone told me that you like animals as much as I do, is that right? Jerrod smiles and Says “Yeah, I love animals.” Terry walks over to a table that has chairs around it. Terry Says “Well what I have here are some pictures from when me and pooky lived in Africa. We had our own injured game reserve. This is only one of out albums, but would you like to look through it with me?” Jerrod perks up and says “Yeah I sure would!” Jerrod and Terry sit down at the table and begin to open the album. The Counselor Says “Well Jerrod I have some things I would like to show Joan, so if you don’t mind we are going to take a short little trip. We will be back in a few minutes. Joan Says “See you two boys in a little while.” Scene change; we see the door closing shut, then we switch to another door that opens and the counselor and Joan walk into another office. Joan Says “I’m just worried about Cody. He seems to be having a hard time adjusting. I’m not sure what’s wrong because he wont tell me. The Counselor Says “I see. How long has it been since you adopted him from us?” Joan Says “ Three months and two weeks.” The counselor says “Well Joan, all of these children have had a pretty tough time. I thank God for people like you who give so much of your life. Its going to take time for Cody to blend in with his new environment. You are just going to have to be patient. I know that if Jerrod moves in with you two, that should help both the boys. By the way, where is Cody at today?” Joan Says “Oh, he is at home with my sister Teresa. I don’t want him to know about Jerrod until we see if he wants to move in with us. I’m really excited about the idea of Jerrod coming home with us, I think that will be good for everyone.” Scene change; We see Cody sitting in the floor eating a bowl of popcorn, watching TV in his bedroom. There is a bed and chair, small table and TV and window. His new aunt Teresa walks in. Aunt Teresa Says “Cody, could I borrow those strong muscles for a minute, I need to move a flower pot that is outside to the front of the house.” Cody Says “Sure” Cody gets up from the floor and walks out of the room with his Aunt. The camera view moves to the window where we see slightly pulled back curtains and sunshine coming in. We see a curtain get poked as if someone is outside poking at it with their finger. Then we see a nose stick through the curtains in the parting. It is Lizards nose we see; his tongue poking out repeatedly as if to sniff the room. He grabs one of the curtains aside and jumps up on the window seal, then he moves into the room. He snags his leg on the curtain, and stumbles on the floor, glasses again falling off. He raises his head as if he smells something good, He picks up his glasses and walks to the coffee table where the popcorn is sitting. He pokes his tongue out a couple of times, then picks up a piece of popcorn and puts it into his mouth. He crunches it while smacking it in a very annoying way. He puts one hand to his forehead and slaps down on the coffee table twice as if he just ate the best thing in his life. Then suddenly his eyes get very large, his mouth opens widely, his tongue sticks out and curls down. He makes a loud hacking sound as if he is choked on a piece of the pop corn. Then he throws his head back, and slings it forward as he hacks even louder; his glasses getting thrown off and hitting the floor. Then we hear, but do not see .. Baboo Says “Lizard, where are you?” Lizard rushes to pick up his glasses and put them on. We then see Baboo stick his head in the curtains and he see’ s lizard. Baboo Says “Lizard, what are you doing here without me? You know you are supposed to wait on me!” Lizard finishes putting on his glasses, and walks toward Baboo as Baboo steps inside the window to the room. Lizard walks up to Baboo and opens his mouth as if to say something, but no sound comes out. He closes his mouth and opens it again; then suddenly another cough and a piece of popcorn flies out of Lizards mouth and hits Baboo in the face. Baboo Says “AHHHHH! Lizard, you are such a camels butt sometimes! Why cant you just behave?” Lizard Says “I’m Soweeey Baboo” Baboo Says “well we have a couple of minutes lets look around and see what Cody is interested in.” Lizard walks over to a dresser and starts to look around. Baboo walks around looking at the walls and notices there is nothing on them. He sees a small drawing beside the bed on a piece of paper and it is a picture of a boy that has fallen in a deep hole. Baboo Says “Ah, I can feel what Cody was thinking when he drew this picture. The little guy is really scared. He feels all alone.” Lizard looks to Baboo and Says “awww … Cody Scared!” Baboo Says “Yeah, but we are going to fix that. We just need to figure out how to meet him without scaring him to death.” Lizard points to the TV and Says “Inside TV” Baboo looks to the TV and Says “Yes Lizard you are a genius!” Just then Baboo and Lizard jump into the TV. We see the program that was playing on the TV change to a picture of Baboo and Lizard. Lizard looks around and jokingly says “Lizard Scared” Baboo Laughs out loud and Says “Shut up Lizard”. Just then Cody walks back into the room, and sits down beside the popcorn. He notices that the program is not the same. Baboo looks out of the TV and says “Cody Robinson, congratulations you have won an interactive TV program today, called Baboo Says! Lizard claps his hands and makes a sound as a crowd “ahhh ahhhh ahhhh ahhh” Baboo Says “Now Cody, this is a new interactive program which means we can talk to each other. Would you like to play along? In disbelief Cody Says “ah, yeah I think so”. Baboo Says “Excellent! Your name is Cody Robinson and you are 11 years old. Your favorite snack is popcorn, your favorite color is blue, and you have played a nasty trick on yourself! True or False?” Cody still looks in disbelief. Baboo Says “Yes Cody Robinson I am talking to you. You have played a dirty trick on yourself, true or false?” Cody Says “uhh, false?” Lizard makes a noise that reflects wrong answer “ANNNNN”. Then he starts writing in his notepad. Baboo Says “That is incorrect sir! You have played a dirty trick on yourself. Would you say that most of the time you feel good or bad? Cody Says “Well, not so good”. Baboo Says “So you choose to feel bad, true or false?” Cody Says “false.” Lizard Says “ANNNN” Baboo Says “Dude, if you feel bad, that’s what you choose. You feel what you think. So I want to know what you have been thinking about.?” Cody Says “I don’t know.” Baboo Says “Well lets look at it like this, when you feel bad, what does that feel like?” Cody Says “I feel scared, alone.” Baboo Says “When you do feel alone the most?” Cody Says “I don’t know, at night time I guess. Sometimes in the morning because I have nightmares.” Baboo Says “What are your nightmares about?” Cody Says “I am always walking somewhere alone, there is never anyone around and then I fall into a hole and there in no one around, and I feel really scared. Baboo Says “Yeah, I’m not too surprised by that, you make your dreams. Cody Says “I don’t make those dreams, I hate them.” Baboo Says “Don’t you see that the dream makes you feel just like you feel when you are awake? You already told me you feel bad, alone and scared. Your dream is just what you created to show you how you are feeling. You feel the same way as if you fell into a hole, all alone. So I’m wondering what it is that you have been thinking about that makes you feel alone, that makes you have your nightmares.” Cody Says “Wow, maybe you’re right. I guess I think about my parents, I miss them. I think about my home, I really miss that. I think about my friends I will never see again. I don’t have any friends.” Baboo Says “Oh my goodness! You told me you didn’t choose to feel bad. I think you have played a dirty trick on yourself. You know, you are going to feel the same way you think. Do you like thinking about those things?” Cody Says “No, I don’t like it, but I cant stop.” Baboo Says “You keep trying to change the past. You keep thinking about these things because you don’t want to let them go. Do you remember when you were 1 and 2 years old?” Cody Says “No, I was too young.” Baboo Says “Why don’t you think about those days, and what you lost, what you don’t have anymore.? Cody Says “I was just a baby. No one stays a baby forever.” Baboo Says “Well no one stays 8 forever either. No one stays 11 forever. No one stays on earth forever. Its not smart to keep thinking about the past, because you are going to miss what you have right now. Cody Says “Yeah, and what do I have?” Baboo Says “That’s what you need to think about. You have a lot, but if you choose to not think about it, then you are going to stay in the past.” Just then Lizard makes a noise of discomfort and swings his head around as if he has a neck ache. The he stretches out his arms too stretch his muscles. His left hand comes outside the TV, and as he is bringing his arms back from the stretch his pencil hits the side of the TV and falls onto the floor. Lizard Says “uhh Ohh.” Just then Cody scrambles backwards on all fours until he bumps into the wall. Cody Says “What the heck! What the heck! What the heck!” Baboo hits his forehead with his palm and shakes his head. Baboo Says “Well leave it to Lizard to break the ice. Sorry to scare you Cody. But, uhhhh, We are not just an interactive program. Actually I’m a Genie and I came here to help you. This helpful but distractive little guy is my friend Lizard. We want to pop in on you from time to time and see if we can get you to remember how to be happy. Cody Says “A Geine, REALLY? That’s so cool, do I get 3 wishes?” Baboo Says “Well you will get more than just 3 wishes Cody. We are going to show you how to use your own Magic. I can not use my magic for you, but I will help you find yours. Cody Says “You don’t look like I thought Genies look like.” Baboo Says “Well that is because I am a kid Genie, I’m only 144 years old. The genies you are thinking of are adult genies and they are at least 500 years old. And no, I don’t live in a bottle and neither do other genies. Although, that may be a good idea for Lizard. Do you mind if we get out of here and stretch out a little?” Cody Says “Yeah, sure that’s OK.” Baboo snaps his fingers and they disappear from inside the TV and appear outside in the room. Lizard begins writing. Baboo Says “That’s better, now listen Cody, we figured out what you don’t want You don’t want pretty much everything you keep thinking about. Now I want you to start thinking about what you do want. When you get ready for bed tonight, I want you to write out a list of 5 things that you want to have this year. Put that list somewhere where you will see it everyday and think about it. Everyday think about 1 of those things and how it could happen for you. Now I’m going to tell you a great and powerful thing that will give you the power to create what you want. Are you ready? Cody Says “Yeah, I’m ready.” Baboo Says “If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at will change!” Cody Says “uhh, I’m not sure I know what that means.” Baboo Says “Oh my GOODNESS! Pause.. Baboo Says “Ok, let me tell you this story. Once Lizard and me went to help these twin boys. They were almost the same person in a lot of ways except for one important difference. One boy was really shy, afraid of crowds, scared to talk to other people, and was scared to death when we met him because his parents were going to send them both to a summer camp. The other boy would talk your ears off. In fact he would talk so much that he had a hard time listening. But the idea of going to a summer camp was exactly what he wanted to do. So there were two boys, same age, same parents. They went to the same school, with the same friends and teachers. The shy boy looked at everything like there would be something there that he would not like. Before he even got there, he made himself afraid of what might happen. He looked at things expecting something bad to happen. The other boy, his brother looked at new things as being fun. He looked at meeting new people as new ways of having fun. When he would meet new people he would talk and talk.” Just then Lizard looks around and reaches down to sneak some pop corn and puts it into his mouth. You can hear him crunching and smacking it as he tries to be quite. Baboo Says “The shy boy thought something was wrong with him because other kids didn’t play with him. But then again, did he really want other kids to play with him? He would stay in his room and think about things that scared him. Did he really want to be safe? He would wonder why his brother got so much attention, and at the same time he was afraid of being around people. Both the boys were in the same life with the same people. The only difference was the way they looked at things. Now does it make sense? If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at will change.” Cody Says “Yeah, I think I get it now. But I miss my parents and I feel alone. How can I see that any other way?” Baboo Says “That is precisely what you keep looking at. If you keep looking at that you will keep feeling lonely. Change the way you look at it, then you will change the way you feel. Then you will change everything about your life from loneliness to belonging. Think about it kid, think about what you do have. You just met two friends today, Lizard and me. We will be stopping in on you now and then to see how you are doing. You have two really great new parents that already love you, if you let them. You might even get a new brother moving in here soon, I know you have heard Joan and Terry talking about that. Accepting what you do have does not make you loose your real parents. Every night before you go to sleep, you can say a prayer to them and let them know how much you love them and that you are ok now. Let them know you know they are still watching over you and you will see them again one day. Cody Says “Yeah, I guess I can try that.” Just then we hear a beeping sound and lizard reaches behind his head into the backpack and pulls out a little device and pushes a button to make it stop beeping. Lizard Says “Coming back Babooooo” Baboo Says “Opps, I think your aunt Teresa is on her way back in here again. That means Lizard and I have to go now. So write down your list of 5 things you want this year, and talk to your real parents tonight when you go to sleep. Will be back soon to check on ya kid. Cody Says “Ok, I’ll do it.” Baboo snaps his fingers and he and Lizard disappear. Scene Change; to Baboo and Lizard flying in the sky. Baboo Says “Wow, its such a beautiful day today Lizard, I could fly around all day. Check your data pack and see if Joan and Terry have left yet, maybe we will stop back in and check on Jerrod.” Lizard pulls out his data pack from his back pack and pushes some buttons. Lizard Says “Not yet Baboo.” Baboo Says “Well, lets just fly around awhile and then we will check in on him. Lizard Says “Ok Baboo.” Scene change; Back to Jerrod and Terry looking at the photo albums. Jerrod Says “Wow, you guys were riding on the back of real elephants, that’s so amazing. You must be the luckiest guys in the world. Terry laughs and Says “Well Joan and I make time to do the things we want to do. Life should be fun, and fun doesn’t just happen, you have to help it along. I noticed you were sitting in here all alone today, and that really didn’t seem like a lot of fun to me. Jerrod Says “Well there weren’t any elephants around here that I could play with.” Terry Says “Well being with elephants is just one way to have fun. Drawing elephants is another way. Going to a zoo, reading a book, playing with your friends. There are more ways to have fun than you can even think about. There is only one way to be sad though, when you think about things that make you feel sad.” Jerrod Says “Yeah, that sounds familiar.” Just then the door opens and Joan walks back inside the room by herself. Joan Says “Well hello boys.” Terry Says “Hello mama bear.” Joan Says “Well pops I think we need to get back to the house to check on Cody. Pause.. Joan Says “Jerrod, I would like for you to come by our house Friday and you meet Jerrod and see where we live. We have room for you with us and we would really like for you to live with us. So if you want too we can pick you up Friday and you could spend the night with us. You can see if you think you would be happy with us. Does that sound ok with you?? Jerrod Says “Yes mam, I would like that a lot. Joan Says “Oh that’s just great. I hope you go outside and get some sunshine today, its such a beautiful day. “ Terry stands up and grabs the photo album. He holds out his hand to shake Jerrod’s hand. Jerrod reaches out and shakes his hand. Terry Says “Ok little buddy, I will see you on Friday then!” Jerrod looks at Joan, then walks up to her and reaches out to give her a hug. Joan Says “Oh, you are so sweet.” Jerrod Says “Thank you.” Joan Says “No need to think me Jerrod, you are quite a special little boy.” Joan and Terry walk towards the door. Terry Says “See you Friday little man.” Joan and Terry walk through the door and Terry leaves the door open. Jerrod walks over to his bed and bounces down on it a couple of times in excitement. He walks over to his personal chest at the end of his bed and pulls out a notepad and pencil. He goes back to his bed and sits down. Jerrod Says “Now what do I want this year. I want to move in with Terry and Joan. Jerrod begins writing. Jerrod Says “I want to be around animals in a zoo or farm or something. I want to have a best friend. I want to get out of this place. I want to go to Africa. Jerrod says in his mind “Now how many things do I have, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 .. ok that’s my list. I’m so excited. I want to think about all 5 of these.” Just then there are sounds coming out of the chest he got the notepad from, sounds like something is inside of it. Jerrod puts his pad down and walks over to the chest and opens it. Inside we see Baboo and Lizard. Jerrod Says “BABOO! What are you guys doing in there?” Baboo and Lizard laugh and step out of the chest. Baboo Says “We just wanted to see how your visit went while we were gone.” Lizard pulls out his notepad from his back pack. He pulls out a new pencil that is not sharpened. He knaws the pencil with his teeth to sharpen the tip. He pulls it out of his mouth, looks at it, then knaws some more. He pulls it out of his mouth then holds the eraser up to his nose and sniffs it. He makes a high pitch sound “MMMMMM” and begins writing. Baboo and Jerrod look at Lizard then Baboo shakes his head in disbelief. Baboo Says “So how did it go kid?” Jerrod Says “It was great Baboo. They are really great, I am going to spend the night with them on Friday. I cant wait. I’m so excited.” Baboo Says “So why did you choose to be excited?” Jerrod Says “What?” Pause.. Jerrod Says “Oh I get it, because I choose to think about something that makes me feel good!” Baboo Says “WORD UP” Jerrod laughs and Says “No one says that anymore Baboo” Baboo looks over at the bed. Baboo Says “What is that?” Jerrod Says “Oh, I already made my list for 5 things I want this year>” Baboo Says “Excellent, do you mind if I have a look?” Jerrod Says “Sure, go ahead.” Baboo picks up the notepad and reads the list. Baboo Says “That’s a pretty good list Jerrod, there is only one little problem though. Can you tell me what the problem is?” Jerrod takes the pad from Baboo’s hand and reads it. Jerrod Says “It looks ok to me, what’s wrong with it?” Baboo Says “Ok, one of choices is what you don’t want. You say you don’t want to be here anymore. That’s not a good choice. That makes you think about what don’t want. You should change that to what you do want, like you want to have your own room in a house with a new family. Think about what you want. Jerrod Says “Yeah, that’s right, I get it Baboo.” Lizard Says “Cool Beans!” |
| Introduction; Toon 1. Copyright, 2007 Tony Hanes There is a room full of beds inside the orphanage. On one wall we find Jerrod lying on a bed below a row of windows. Outside the windows we can see kids playing in the play ground. Jerrod looks sad laying there. He rolls over to face the camera. Jerrod Says “I hate this place”. In a moment, Baboo walks into the room from a door and walks to the edge of the bed where Jerrod is laying. Baboo Says “Dude, why ya all so inside-out today? Are you sick or something? Jerrod Says “Who are you? Baboo Says with confidence “My name is Baboo, and what is your name?” Jerrod Says “I’m Jerrod” Baboo Says “Cool, so why are you looking so beat up today?” Jerrod Says “I hate this place, and I don’t feel good” A pause, then Jerrod sits up on his elbow. Jerrod Says “Why are you dressed so funny?” Baboo Says “HA HA, I was going to ask you the same thing. These are my clothes and this is what Genies wear where I come from. You don’t like it?” Jerrod Says “uh, a Genie huh? How’s that? You didn’t come out of a lamp. I think you are just a silly kid.” Baboo Laughs Baboo Says “Yeah, you are right about that little man, I am silly sometimes. But that doesn’t change the fact that I’m a Genie. And it doesn’t change the fact that I was sent here to help you get your head out of your butt. I don’t have a lamp, because that’s just what some genies use to make you humans feel like your found something special. - now that’s silly. I could use one if I wanted too, but I don’t need too. “ “Now let’s get back to why I’m here. Why did you choose to be sad today?” Jerrod Says “What do you mean? I didn’t’ choose to be sad today. I just don’t feel good, I feel sad, I miss my parents, and I don’t like it here.” Baboo Says “Ahhhh, Dude! Pump the breaks a second; you are definitely going the wrong way! Jerrod Says “You just don’t understand, nobody does.” Baboo Says “HA HA HA, well one of us doesn’t that’s for sure. Jerrod, who told you to think all those things you just told me about?” Jerrod Says angrily “No one told me too, that’s just how I feel!” Baboo Says “Well if no one told you to think these things, then there is only one person who could be responsible. Only one person can make you choose what to think about Jerrod, and that’s you. If you choose to think about something that makes you feel bad, and then keep thinking about it, you will find something else to think about that makes you feel bad too. Pretty soon all you can think about are things that make you feel bad, then you feel bad. Then the whole world seems like a bad place. That’s why I asked you who told you to think these things, because that’s a pretty dirty trick to play on yourself. Jerrod Says “I guess I told myself to think about all those things.” Baboo Laughs.. Baboo Says “You are a pretty powerful guy then aren’t ya? Just by choosing what you thought about you made yourself so sad that you were upset, you felt to weak to even get out of bed. As a matter of fact you blocked out all the good thoughts you could have been thinking about. Thoughts that would have made you feel good.” Jerrod Says “But I cant stop thinking about these things”. Baboo Says “That’s because you told your brain the kind of things you want to think about when you decided to think about things that make you feel bad. So now your brain is just doing what you asked it to do. That is how powerful your mind is!” Jerrod Says “So how do I make it stop?” Baboo Says “You get up from that bed. You find something else to think about. You decide you choose to feel good, and you start thinking about things that make you feel good. Its not hard at all! HA HA HA, I think you are the silly one my little Genie brother.” |
