We often times get into habits of thinking, or worrying is more accurate. But
thinking about things from the perspective of "I need something" , "I hate
this", "I hate that". Before long our whole thought process can become
contaminated with these negative -glass half full- type of mentality. Our
brains run and re-run mental tapes of thinking about what may go wrong. In
fact to worry, is only looking for something negative to believe in. Think
about that until the truth sets in. You could excuse that behavior by saying
that you are trying to figure a way out of something. The truth is though that
you are still only looking for something negative to believe in.
The first thing you need to do to Super Charge your attitude and your
positive experiences of life is to NOTICE how often you dwell on what could
be, rather than living in what you want. You have to notice all that garbage
you have been throwing around in your mind, because it really stinks and
you have already been wondering what the hell that smell is?
Each time you catch yourself saying, thinking or writing a negative comment
that makes you feel kind of bad, IMMEDIATELY change that thought into
something that feels a little better.
From : "I'm so sick of always being the go-to person at work"
To: "Well at least that gives me some power and authority that maybe I can
use to my advantage"
I will only give one example of the millions of possible things that can run
through a persons mind, but surely you get the idea. There is no thought or
situation that you can not come up with a thought that makes you feel just a
little better.
This process activates a supernatural but really, all natural power of the
universe, and it always has. This is the one principle that makes lucky
people lucky, and pessimists always get the short straw.
The only problem with this exercise is your own commitment to remain
focused to do this day by day. Negative thoughts over a long period of time
will have a momentum that you have created as if training your brain to
always see the negative side of situations. It will take you a week or so to
break through this momentum that you have created, but then your actions
become twice as easy.
Judging others in a negative way is the strongest Joy kill principle you can
use against yourself! You judge another, you separate yourself from them,
you are then divided and then you are not one with God, nature or the
universe. I'm not asking you to like everyone, or even to accept their ways,
but for now at least don't look at them if you can not refrain from judging
them.
When you allow others to be as they are, you are united with the forces of
the universe and then you become a powerful magnet for the newer positive
thoughts you have been purposely thinking.
Second to this, start noticing everything you love about life. From the tiniest
thing to the biggest thing. It might be that you don't even remember anything
you love? If that is the case, then it has been a long time since you even
looked and its no wonder you are still reading this!
LOOK, its still all there. All the magic and wonder the world had when you
were a kid is still around you everyday. Start looking, start appreciating.
Being grateful for a really good sandwich or a brand new car feels exactly
the same. The more you FEEL grateful, the more experiences will come to
you that make you feel grateful. I promise, and if you don't believe me, then
put your money where your mouth is and try it!
